AMMAN — The player of
the national taekwondo team,
Zaid Mustafa, won the silver medal in the third
round of the 2022 World Taekwondo Grand Prix on Saturday.

Mustafa participated in the under-68kg
weight class and defeated French player Dylan Chellamootoo in two rounds during
the round of 32. He then defeated the Brazilian Olympic player Edival Pontes in
two rounds to one in the round of 16.
Mustafa continued to perform brilliantly all the way to
the quarterfinals, where he won against Spanish player Joan Jorquera in two
rounds.
British Bradly Sinden, the 2019
World Taekwondo Championship gold medalist and Tokyo Olympics silver medalist, withdrew against
Mustafa in the semifinals, leading the national team player to qualify for the
final.
Mustafa lost to the South Korean player Ho-Jan in two
rounds.
This
is the second medal won by Mustafa in this year’s Grand Prix championship; he
also achieved a silver medal in the last round, which was hosted in the French
capital, Paris.
