AMMAN — Ajloun is blanketed in carpets of green, an
aesthetic that has contributed to increasing the number of visitors to the governorate, which witnessed a boost in tourist activity on Friday, the Jordan News

Director of Ajloun Tourism Muhammad Al-Deek said that
tourism development efforts in Ajloun and the vibrant spring atmosphere contributed
to stimulating the tourism increase, in addition to the weekend break from work.
What is more, this year's rainy season provided irrigation
that has revived Ajloun’s crops, pastures, and forest and fruit trees,
Director of Ajloun Agriculture Hussein Al-Khalidi said.
Environmental preservationActivists called for preserving Ajloun hiking trails and
forests to avoid the negative environmental effects of accumulating waste and
increased tourist footfall.
A member of the Environment Unites Us Initiative, Fakhri
Onaizat, urged all visitors “to assume their responsibility towards the tourist sites and not to leave behind waste or burning fires, to preserve the abundant forests
of the governorate, which are considered a national treasure”.
A member of the Green Planet Society for Environmental
Protection, Manar Al-Qudah, explained the importance of treating the
environment and nature well, especially since Ajloun Governorate is witnessing
a “developmental tourism renaissance” requiring the joint efforts of everyone
to preserve the benefits that serve to attract tourists from the Kingdom and
abroad.
