Google revealed during antitrust court hearings that the AI-powered chatbot Gemini had reached 350 million monthly active users as of March.
According to official data presented by the company, Google’s AI tools have seen significant growth in recent months. In October 2024, Gemini had only 9 million daily active users, but this figure surged to 35 million daily users by March.

Despite this rapid growth, Gemini still lags behind its competitors in the market. Data presented in court showed that OpenAI’s ChatGPT had approximately 600 million monthly active users, while Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg reported that Meta AI had nearly 500 million monthly users by last September.
Analysts noted that differences in how companies calculate user metrics may affect the accuracy of comparisons, but the overall trend indicates a strong global expansion of Gemini.
The rapid user growth is attributed to Gemini’s integration across multiple platforms, most notably Samsung smartphones, Google Workspace applications, and the Google Chrome browser. The collaboration between Google and Samsung has been a key success factor, with Gemini features embedded into Samsung’s One UI interface—an effort considered a strategic investment, backed by substantial Google funding, according to recent reports.
