International news sites back up after outage

AMMAN — International news sites and social forums were unavailable for around an hour on Tuesday. Jordan News was unaffected by the crash.

Websites such as The Guardian, BBC, Reddit, CNN, and the New York Times were all affected. اضافة اعلان

The problem has been attributed to content delivery network (CDN) vendor Fastly, one of four such vendors that provide cloud services for websites.

Fastly tweeted at 2:09 PM that they “identified a service configuration that triggered disruptions across our POPs globally and have disabled that configuration.” However, their “global network is coming back online.”

Most of the affected websites seem to be functioning now.
