Amman — Jordan's preparations continue for the 16th edition of the
Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, which opens on Tuesday and runs until September 5, in the Japanese capital Tokyo with a wide global participation of nearly 180 countries.

Paralympian Maha Al-Barghouthi, secretary general of the Paralympic Committee and head of the mission, said in a press release on Sunday: “We have completed our preparations and our next goal is to return to Amman with as many medals as possible through our 10 athletes participating in weightlifting and table tennis.”
"We appreciate the warm welcome that the Jordanian mission received from the moment it arrived in Tokyo, and we recognize the ability of friends in Japan to organize an extraordinary edition of the Paralympics despite the challenges of the corona pandemic, which has deprived the public presence in the stands," she said.
