AMMAN — Abd Alkareem Khattab clinched a powerlifting gold medal at the
Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games on Sunday at the 88 kg category, according to Jordan
News Agency, Petra.

According to the
Jordanian Paralympic Committee, Khattab has lifted 220 kilograms in the first attempt, in the second he lifted
225, and in the third he lifted 231 kilograms, breaking the Olympic record.
Khattab has a track record of achievements, and he is the
world record holder for lifting the weight of 240 kilograms, and the Incheon
Paralympic gold in Korea, as well as gold in international championships in
Malaysia, Dubai and Hungary.
The Jordanian participation in weightlifting continues on Sunday,
with the appearance of the weightlifter Asmaa Issa, at a weight of 79
kilograms, at 10.30 am, the weightlifter Moataz Al-Junaidi, at a weight of 97
kilograms, at 12.30 pm, and Jamil Al-Shubail, weight of 107 kilograms, at 12:30
pm.
