President of the
Resistance Wall and Settlement Commission, Muayyad Shaban, mentioned that Israeli authorities
demolished 80 structures, including 37 inhabited homes, 9 uninhabited homes,
and 17 agricultural facilities, in Hebron, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Jenin.
Shaban added that Israeli authorities began
issuing many military-styled orders, termed "urgent orders," to take
control of areas of citizens' lands. These orders are characterized by
prohibiting citizens from objecting to them, attempting to thwart citizens'
efforts to monitor and reclaim these lands.
Furthermore, Israeli authorities seized a
total of 20 dunums last month through issuing 5 orders to place land under
military control for military purposes in the governorates of Nablus, Qalqilya,
Bethlehem, and Ramallah. They also issued demolition notices for 9 buildings
belonging to citizens in Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Tubas.
He revealed that Israeli authorities have
intensified, in recent times, the study of structural plans for settlements,
either by approval or deposit for the purpose of expansion at the expense of
citizens' lands. They submitted a total of 19 structural plans for settlement
expansion for study, with 2364 settlement units concentrated in the
governorates of Qalqilya, Bethlehem, Salfit, Jericho, and Hebron. This includes
approval for the establishment of two electricity facilities in Jericho
Governorate.
