The Stone Uprising originated in Jabalia after four workers were killed at the Israeli occupation's Beit Hanoun "Erez" checkpoint in 1987. This tragic incident sparked spontaneous and furious protests in Jabalia, escalating into violent confrontations with the occupying forces. The first fatality was Hatem al-Sisi, Al Mamlaka TV reported.

From Jabalia to Balata camp and Nablus, the uprising gained momentum, claiming more lives, including Ibrahim Al-Aklouk (17 years old), Souhaila Al-Kaabi (19 years old), and Ali Mousaad (12 years old) from Balata camp. The uprising spread, claiming hundreds of martyrs, and tens of thousands of wounded, and leading to numerous imprisonments.

The Intifada endured for seven years, leaving an indelible mark on every aspect of life in the West Bank, Gaza, occupied Jerusalem, and the 1948 territories. As the revolutionary song goes, "In every village, home, and neighborhood, our uprising continues to revolve."

According to the Foundation for the Care of Martyrs' Families and Prisoners, 1550 Palestinians were martyred, and 100,000 to 200,000 Palestinians were arrested during the uprising. According to the foundation’s statistics, over 70,000 were wounded, with around 40 percent suffering permanent disabilities.

The uprising led to 256 Israeli settlers' deaths, 127 Israeli military deaths, the deportation of 481 Palestinians, and tens of thousands of Palestinians tortured during interrogation.
