MOSCOW — On Tuesday, over 4,000
Ukrainian refugees holding
Ukrainian passports have fled Israel, opting to return to their homeland.
Vasily Nebenzia, Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations,
accused Western countries of double standards in addressing humanitarian
situations in both Gaza and Ukraine, Al-Ghad reported.

During a
United Nations Security Council meeting, he stated
“4,000 thousand refugees from Israel, carrying Ukrainian passports, have
decided to return to Ukraine because they deem the situation there to be safe.
So they prefer returning to their homeland from Israel, a country that, as you
well know, is much safer by tens, if not hundreds of times, than
Gaza, which is being completely destroyed before our eyes."
Furthermore, Nebenzia pointed out that Western
representatives choose to overlook this situation, and he added "I repeat
my question from the previous meeting regarding the humanitarian situation in
Ukraine: How many meetings have you held discussing the humanitarian situation
in Gaza during all this time? I will answer for you: not a single one."
He also stated, "Instead of promoting lies and
allegations about alleged Russian attacks on civilians in a country—let me
repeat—Ukrainian refugees from Israel are seeking to return to."
