GAZA – In the early hours of the morning,
Gazans begin to line up in front of the bakeries in the hope of obtaining
whatever bread they can to alleviate the hunger of their children, who are
besieged by the continuous and indiscriminate Israeli air strikes, which do not
differentiate between children, women, and the elderly.

"Getting bread for my children is a
dangerous task amidst the continuous Israeli aggression, and it may require me
to stand in a long queue for hours just to return to my children with a few
loaves of bread in case the bakery is not bombed,” Abu Mohammed, the head of a
family from Khan Younis, told Al-Mamlaka.
"The suffering also includes obtaining
some food for my family and children in light of the depletion of household
fuel (gas) for cooking, and many food items are beginning to disappear."
The Israeli planes targeted the bakery of
the Maghazi refugee camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip; the only bakery that provides
bread to tens of thousands of camp residents and displaced people.
Eyewitnesses said that the missiles
completely destroyed the bakery, leaving a large crater in its place.
There are fears of the Israeli occupation
targeting the bakeries with air strikes, turning the Israeli war in Gaza into a
war on Palestinian life in all its forms.
The owner of one of the bakeries in central
Gaza says that the demand exceeds the capacity of the working bakeries, given
the limited flour and the power outages. He pointed out that they work without
knowing if the next moment will be the time for an Israeli strike to turn the
bakery into an incinerator.
