Abu Rudeineh said that
President Abbas had
touched on the issue of elections, emphasizing the official Palestinian
position on holding elections as soon as they were able to be held in
East Jerusalem, but he did not offend anyone in his words, nor did he use any word
that offended any party.
The spokesman for the
Palestinian Presidency added that such reports issued in the Israeli media are a
continuation of the fierce campaign led by the Israeli occupation authorities
against the Palestinian leadership and the Palestinian narrative, which has
begun to make its way in the United States and in the world to refute the
Israeli narrative.
Israeli media reported Abbas referring to
the EU as ‘animals’ and berating them for their failures to maintain their
promises made regarding Israel, namely Brussels regarding promises made
concerning elections in East Jerusalem.
