WASHINGTON — The
US Central Command announced that on Friday, an MQ-9 fighter carried out an
airstrike in Eastern Syria, killing Abu Osama Al-Muhajir, the leader of Daesh,
according to various media outlets.

The command stated that
the airstrike did not result in any
civilian casualties. They further
emphasized that they remain committed to fighting Daesh.
Abu Osama Al-Muhajir was
the emir of the Daesh in Yemen. He was previously arrested, along with a number
of accompanying members of the organization, by Saudi and Yemeni special forces
after a successful operation inside Yemen on June 3, 2019.
