TEL AVIV – On Wednesday, the Israeli
newspaper, Maariv, quoted sources indicating that the recent
assassination of Hamas leader, Saleh Al-Arouri, disposed of Israel’s chances at any prisoner
exchange talks.

The sources added that Israel believed that
the assassination could pressure Hamas and push it to accept a prisoner
exchange deal without a ceasefire in Gaza, Jo24 reported.
Hamas’ condition for a prisoner exchange deal
is a complete and permanent ceasefire.
