In an interview, Chen Almog-Goldstein, 48, said, “The guards
who held us shielded us with their bodies from the bombing. They shielded us
from the army's fire; we were very important to them.”
She noted how the guards never left them alone, sticking to
them at all times, “When we asked them if they would kill us, their response
was, 'We will die before you.’”
When asked how they spent
their time during captivity, she said, “I played with my children, and my
daughter Agam exercised all the time. One of the guards even engaged in a
hand-wrestling match with me but placed a towel on his hand before that.” She
also spoke about her two young sons playing and drawing, mentioning that their
guards even taught them card games.
“They respected women; women were sacred to them,
untouchable. Women were considered queens,” she mentioned.
In the latest update, Al-Qassam has released around 50
Israeli prisoners, including women, and children, in exchange for the release
of 150 Palestinian detainees from Israeli jails.
