Al Shifa hospital staff and patients forced to flee at gunpoint

GAZA — Staff and Patients were held at gunpoint by Israeli occupation forces and forced to leave the Al Shifa hospital on Saturday morning, following an immediate evacuation order. اضافة اعلان

According to Dr. Munir Al Bursh, Director General of the Gaza Health Ministry, 450 patients along with thousands of the displaced were forced to flee south. He said 5 doctors including the director of Shifa and some nurses remain with 150 patients among them children. 

“We were forced to raise a white flag and move in a single file, one of our colleagues was detained. We’re pushing patients on wheelchairs & beds. There are decomposing bodies strewn on the street,” Bursh told Al Jazeera. 

“We were told by the UN that a delegation will assist the remaining patients and doctors in evacuating safely. We pray that this materializes and these doctors, patients & nurses are evacuated.”
