TEL AVIV — According to the Hebrew-language daily newspaper,
Maarive, nearly half of Israelis oppose an immediate ground military operation
in the
Gaza Strip. According to the Friday edition, in response to the question
‘should the army carry out a
ground operation in Gaza immediately, or is it
better to wait?’ 49 percent of its respondents felt it was better to wait,
while 29 percent believed an immediate attack was necessary.

The survey was conducted by the
Panel4All Institute on
October 25 and 26, with 522 participants representing the adult population of
Israel. The margin of error is 4.3 percent, according to the newspaper.
Meanwhile, a previous poll conducted by the institute last week and published
by Maariv showed that 65 percent of respondents supported a military invasion
of the
Gaza Strip, without specifying the timing of the attack, Al-Mamlaka TV
reported.
