According to Khaberni,
although the decision has not been officially announced yet, the officials
disclosed that the mission of the aircraft carrier
USS Gerald R. Ford and the
destroyer USS Normandy in the Mediterranean Sea has been extended once again.
Despite not officially
confirming the decision, the officials stated that, according to Austin's
instructions, the ships will continue their deployment in the Mediterranean
near the occupied Palestinian territories for a few more weeks. With this
decision, the deployment of the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford in the
region will be extended for the third time.
US Defense Secretary
ordered the aircraft carrier to sail to the eastern Mediterranean on October 8.
While Washington calls on Tel Aviv to reduce human losses in the second phase
of the aggression on the Gaza Strip, daily shipments of US weapons to the entity
have not stopped.
The size of political
support and foreign aid from the United States to the entity reflects the level
of interest successive US administrations give to consolidating the presence of
the occupying state in the Middle East, considering it a vital partner in the
region with shared strategic goals.
