During a conference held in Ramallah, the General Commissioner of the Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR), Issam Arouri stated that a team in The Hague is currently filing a complaint with the ICC regarding the genocide, Amad reported.

He added that the dossier was prepared in partnership with the Palestinian Legal Organization in London, joined by 15 national human rights institutions across the Arab world, along with five bar associations and unions of lawyers.

Director of the ICHR, Ammar Al-Dwaik presented the complaint statement, explaining that a team of experts produced a 157-page document providing a comprehensive legal analysis. It detailed how Israeli political and military figures' actions and policies constitute a systematic campaign of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

The document highlighted Israel's deliberate destruction of Palestinian culture, environmental devastation, ecocide, and house demolitions, all indicative of a systematic effort to erase Palestinian identity and render Gaza uninhabitable.

The commission emphasized that Israel's actions meet the criteria for genocide as defined in the Rome Statute of the ICC and the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide of 1948.

The report placed Israel’s actions within the broader historical context of Zionist ideology and Israel's perpetual occupation of Palestinian territories. It called for immediate accountability under international law, particularly under the Rome Statute and principles of international criminal law, urging the ICC to conduct a comprehensive investigation into all crimes within its jurisdiction and issue arrest warrants as necessary.

Additionally, ICHR's International Relations and Program Development Officer, Ola Adawi stated in a statement to the Prosecutor's Office of the ICCvia Zoom that the team of experts, specialists, and researchers, exceeding 35 from around the world, collaborated to provide an in-depth legal analysis proving that what is happening in Palestine, particularly in Gaza, meets the legal description outlined in the Rome Statute, fully satisfying the elements of genocide.

She added, "We expect the Prosecutor's Office to initiate an investigation and issue arrest warrants against Israeli officials involved in the crimes committed in Gaza, putting an end to Israel's impunity, which has continuously contributed to serious and systematic violations of international law."
