Jamal Rushdi, official spokesman of the League’s Secretary-General, said expansion in the recognition of Palestinian statehood among the international community is a further evidence of a growing conviction that it is impossible for the occupation to continue, and there's a need to achieve the two-state solution.
"The recognition represents an important step towards the creation of a Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967," he said.
The Arab League chief called on all countries that have not yet recognized a Palestinian state to "take this morally sound, and legally and politically correct" decision as a real contribution towards realizing the two-state solution, achieving peace and ending the occupation, according to Rushdie.
