AMMAN— Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, Mohammad Khalayleh, on Thursday stressed the importance of joint cooperation and expertise exchange with Palestinian side, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

During his meeting on Thursday with the Palestinian Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, Hatem Bakri, Khalayleh lauded "deep-rooted" Palestinian-Jordanian relations under the two countries' leaderships.
Khalayleh said Jordan "always supports Palestinian cause, which is the central Arab issue to help the Palestinian people restore their just rights and establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital."
He said the issue of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian sanctities belongs to all Muslims and Arabs, adding that the Kingdom pays attention to Palestinians' suffering and battles pressures for this position.
Expressing full support to Palestinian people, he referred to the role of the Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem's holy sites, especially the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, in defending the shrine against all Israeli extremists' incursions.
For his part, Palestinian minister lauded Jordan's efforts under the King's leadership in defending the Palestinian people, emphasizing their legitimate rights, adding that Hashemite custodianship defends Islamic and Christian holy sites in Al-Quds Al-Sharif and counters all attempts to Judaize Jerusalem, carried out by Israeli authorities and extremist settlers.
Bakri also stressed the "deep-rooted" relations between the two brotherly countries and their coordination in various fields.
