Ben Gvir's raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque is a provocative and condemned step, constituting a violation of the historical and legal status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif.
The Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif, with its total area of 144 dunams, is a place of exclusive worship for Muslims. The Jerusalem Waqf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department, under the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Sites, is the legal authority with exclusive jurisdiction over the administration of the Al-Haram Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif and the regulation of access to it.
Since taking office as Minister of National Security, Ben Gvir has stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque about 7 times, four of which took place during the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
