WASHINGTON – On Monday, a senior US
official stated that recent phone calls between US President Joe Biden and
Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu discussed the possibility of reaching
a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

The official added that the framework
agreement is largely ready to facilitate a deal for an exchange and cessation
of hostilities, Jo24 reported.
Meanwhile, NBC News cited informed sources
saying that in private discussions,
Biden acknowledged that dealing with Netanyahu has become challenging. Biden described Netanyahu as the primary
obstacle to the ceasefire. He believes that Netanyahu wants the war to continue
to secure his position in power. Nevertheless, Biden still maintains that his
unwavering support for Israel remains the correct approach.
