As reported by Khaberni, The ceremony took place at the White House in celebration of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. During the event, Biden stated, "We will continue to provide military assistance to Israel until it gets rid of Hamas, but we must be cautious. They (Israel) need to be cautious. The global public opinion can change overnight, and we cannot allow that."

He further emphasized, "As I said after the attack (Al-Aqsa floods on October 7), my commitment to the safety of the Jewish people, the security of Israel, and its right to exist as an independent Jewish state does not waver."

The reception was attended by 800 guests. Earlier on Monday, a group of protesters organized a demonstration outside the White House. Around 20 Jewish women chained themselves to the White House fence wearing shirts that read "Not in Our Name." They chanted slogans calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and an end to genocide.

An opinion poll showed that the majority of Americans do not agree with Biden's handling of the Israeli attack on Gaza.
