GAZA – In an interview with Al-Ghad on Sunday, a Jordanian
doctor returning from Gaza said he examined
children in Gaza whose veins had
frozen from the cold.

Dr. Bilal Azzam, who was able to enter the Strip with an
international organization and witness the war on the ground, added,
"Every day we lose lives for a minor reason, which is the lack of
antibiotics. A person loses their life for a reason that should not exist in
2024."
He continued, "What saddens us every day is the
existence of
children dying from the cold. They do not suffer from illness,
their homes are not bombed, they are not injured; they simply die because of
low temperatures, sitting in a tent that does not protect them from rain, cold,
or bombing."
Dr. Azzam added, "Children come to the hospital in the
evening, their skin blue from the cold, their bodies frozen. Just a blanket
could save a child's life, but the blood in their veins freezes, and they
die."
