During a press conference held at the
Nasser Medical Complex, Zaqout appealed to Egypt to dispatch ambulances to the Shifa Medical
Complex for the prompt rescue of patients, the wounded, and newborns. He
stressed the inadequacy of the current sluggish mechanism, which results in the
evacuation of only a few dozen wounded individuals over several days,
Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
Zaqout emphasized the critical need to rescue 36 children in
the neonatal intensive care unit, as time is running out, and there is no room
for further delays in saving lives.
Furthermore, he called for the provision of essential
supplies, particularly the necessary fuel, to operate all facets of the
services at the Shifa Medical Complex. This includes intensive care units,
operating rooms, and water pumping into wells.
Lastly, Zaqout urged the establishment of a secure and
efficient passage to and from the Shifa Medical Complex.
