According to the Sudan News Agency, the military issued a statement saying, "One of our planes crashed while taking off from Wadi Sidna Airport late last night, and we have confirmed a number of military and civilian casualties, who were assisted. Firefighting teams were able to control the fire at the crash site in Housing Area 75."

A military source in Khartoum explained that "a transport plane belonging to the Sudanese military crashed, resulting in the deaths of several officers on board," and pointed out that the crash was caused by a technical error.

Videos circulated on social media showed flames rising from the crash site, with firefighting teams intervening to control the blaze.

Authorities have announced the launch of an immediate investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident, with initial reports suggesting a technical malfunction may have been behind the crash.

Meanwhile, a medical source at Al-Nou hospital in Omdurman stated that "the bodies of at least five civilians and a number of injured individuals were transported to the hospital following the incident." Eyewitnesses reported significant damage to several homes near the crash site.
