The observatory, headquartered in
Britain, stated on
Saturday that the death toll is still likely to rise due to the presence of
critically injured individuals, according to Asharq Al-Awsat News.
They also added that
Daesh militants targeted at least one
military bus in the Syrian desert in the area of Al-Mayadeen, in what was the
most violent attack in 2023.
According to the observatory, the death toll from military
operations within the Syrian desert has reached 412 since the beginning of the
year.
Areas in the southern and eastern parts of
Deir ez-Zur desert still serve as a refuge for Daesh elements, alongside the Damascus -
Deir ez-Zur road southwest of Deir ez-Zur, according to what the German news
agency quoted from the Syrian forces.
