According to a statement by the Islamic Waqf Department in occupied Jerusalem, the settlers conducted provocative tours in the mosque’s courtyards and performed Talmudic rituals in the eastern area of the compound.
Earlier in the morning, Israeli occupation forces assaulted two of the mosque’s guards as they exited from Bab al-Majlis. The police also imposed strict restrictions on Palestinian worshippers entering Al-Aqsa, inspecting their IDs and holding some of them at the gates.
The Al-Aqsa Mosque continues to face daily incursions by settlers, except on Fridays and Saturdays, under the protection of Israeli police, as part of ongoing efforts to impose temporal and spatial division of the holy site. Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation has tightened its siege on the mosque, limiting Muslim access and placing iron barriers, while detaining and obstructing worshippers at the gates.
Calls continue to be made for intensified presence and mobilization of worshippers at Al-Aqsa to counter the settlers' schemes. (Petra)
