Dozens of Israeli settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque – Al-Haram Al-Sharif on Monday morning, entering through the Moroccan Gate under heavy protection from Israeli occupation police, on the second day of the so-called Jewish Passover holiday.

According to a statement from the Islamic Waqf Department in occupied Jerusalem, the settlers conducted provocative tours inside the mosque’s courtyards and performed Talmudic rituals, accompanied by singing, dancing, and clapping.
Meanwhile, Israeli police imposed strict restrictions on Muslim worshippers, checking IDs and withholding some at the outer gates of the mosque.
The Old City of Jerusalem was effectively turned into a militarized zone, as thousands of Israeli forces and special units were deployed across its streets to secure the settlers' incursions and provocations.
Extremist groups continue to push for the ritual sacrifice of animals inside the mosque compound, in a clear attempt to alter its Islamic identity and introduce full Torah-based practices within it.
Al-Aqsa Mosque has been subjected to daily violations and incursions (except on Fridays and Saturdays) under police protection, as part of an ongoing effort to impose temporal and spatial division of the sacred site.
The occupation forces have also maintained a siege on Al-Aqsa Mosque since October 7, 2023, heavily restricting Muslim access, erecting barriers, and detaining worshippers at the gates to impede their entry.
