EAST JERUSALEM — On Monday dozens of Israeli extremist settlers stormed the
courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Holy Mosque in the occupied city of
Jerusalem.
The Islamic
Endowments Department in Jerusalem reported in a statement that these raids
took place under the protection of the Israeli occupation police. These actions
coincided with increased calls for raids during the Jewish Festival of Lights,
the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
The
department clarified that the occupation forces permitted dozens of extremist
settlers to enter the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque. There, they conducted
provocative tours and engaged in Talmudic rituals.
The
statement further highlighted that occupation police, stationed at the gates of
the Old City and Al-Aqsa Mosque, hindered the access of citizens and worshipers
to the mosque.
