BRUSSELS — On Wednesday, the Financial Times reported that
the European Union (EU) is preparing a 7.4 billion euro aid package for Egypt
aimed at supporting its economy amid concerns that Israel’s war on Gaza and the
conflict in Sudan could worsen the country's financial problems.

The newspaper mentioned that President of the European
Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will travel to Cairo on Sunday with the Prime
Ministers of Greece, Italy, and Belgium to finalize and announce the agreement,
Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
