ISTANBUL — On Friday,
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan issued a decree granting Palestinian students from
Gaza studying at Turkish
public universities an exemption from tuition fees. According to the decree,
the state will cover the second-semester fees for diploma and bachelor's
students residing in Gaza who are enrolled in regular programs at any of
Turkey's public higher education institutions. The official gazette published
the decree on Friday, outlining amendments related to university fees for the
academic year 2023-2024, Hala reported.
