GENEVA —
Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has submitted a primary report
to UN special rapporteurs and the Prosecutor of the International Criminal
Court (ICC), documenting numerous cases of field executions by the
Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in the Gaza Strip, calling for an immediate
investigation into these alleged crimes, seeking accountability for the
perpetrators and justice for the victims.

The initial file was presented to key figures including the
UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial or arbitrary executions
Maurice Tidball Benz, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the
Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 Francesca Albanese, head of the
Investigative Committee on the Occupied Palestinian Territory Navanethem
Pillay, and
ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan.
Euro-Med Monitor is urging these entities to take a strong
stance against the reported widespread field executions and physical
liquidations carried out by the IOF targeting Palestinian civilians,
particularly in the Gaza Strip. The organization also emphasizes the immediate
international action to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, and halt unjustifiable
killings, calling for the establishment
of an international legal team, access to
Gaza for investigation, and a thorough
inquiry into reported IOF atrocities against Palestinian civilians.
Since the IOF ground attack on October 27, Euro-Med Monitor
estimates that over 28,000 Palestinians have been killed in the
Gaza Strip,
with women and children comprising 70 percent of the recorded victims. This
staggering number constitutes the highest rate of civilian casualties globally
in the 21st century.
The documented field execution crimes and liquidations by
the IOF include instances such as the execution of six civilians from a single
family in Gaza City, the shooting and death of an elderly couple forcibly
evacuated from their home, and the killing of a mentally ill man during a
siege.
Euro-Med Monitor stresses that these reported executions
violate international standards and the right to life as outlined in the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the
International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Furthermore, the organization continues to document and
compile comprehensive files on arbitrary, extrajudicial, and unnecessary
killings by Israeli forces in the region.
