AMMAN — Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Pierbattista
Pizzaballa said that the far-right Israeli occupation government headed by
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “has made life worse for Christians” in the
birthplace of Christianity, the city of Jerusalem.

In a statement issued by the Patriarchate on Thursday,
Pizzaballa said that the Christian community in the region, which extends back
2,000 years, is under increasing attack by the occupation government, the “most
right-wing government in Israel's history”, which has encouraged extremists to
harass clergy and vandalize religious property at an accelerating pace, Amad
reported.
“The perpetrators of the attacks feel that they are protected, and that the cultural and political climate now can justify or tolerate actions against Christians."
