According to Israeli Army Radio, this marks the 18th time Netanyahu has appeared in court (since December 10, 2024).
Two weeks ago, the court set the number of sessions for Netanyahu’s trial at 24, meaning that 6 sessions remain.
The charges in the "Case 4000" relate to providing benefits to the former owner of the Israeli news website "Walla," Shaul Elovitch, who was also a shareholder in the Bezeq telecommunications company, in exchange for positive media coverage.
Netanyahu's trial was resumed in December of last year, with him appearing before the court twice on December 11 and 12, while his third appearance was on the 16th of the same month, the fourth on the 18th, and the fifth on the 23rd.
Netanyahu faces charges of corruption, bribery, and breach of trust in three well-known corruption cases, referred to as "Case 1000," "Case 2000," and "Case 4000," with the most serious being Case 4000. The former Attorney General, Avichai Mandelblit, filed the indictment related to these cases in late November 2019.
"Case 1000" involves Netanyahu and his family receiving expensive gifts from wealthy businessmen in exchange for providing benefits and assistance to these individuals in various fields.
In "Case 2000," Netanyahu is accused of negotiating with Arnon Mozes, the publisher of the private Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, to secure positive media coverage.
Netanyahu’s trial on these cases began in 2020 and is still ongoing. He denies the charges, claiming they are part of a "political campaign aimed at ousting him."
