According to the German Press Agency (DPA), the G7 nations said in a joint statement issued last night:
“We call for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and urge the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces to engage meaningfully in serious and constructive negotiations.”

The statement, issued by the foreign ministers of the seven countries — Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States — along with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, added:
“We strongly condemn the ongoing conflict, atrocities, and grave human rights violations in Sudan, as the world marks the second anniversary of this devastating war.”

The G7 also urged all external actors to halt any support that could further fuel the conflict.

The foreign ministers expressed deep concern over what they described as “the world’s largest humanitarian crisis,” and the toll it has taken on civilians — especially women and children, who continue to suffer from displacement, violence, and abuse.

The group also condemned attacks on displaced persons' camps and humanitarian workers, and called for facilitated access to humanitarian aid and the protection of humanitarian personnel.
