Americans approve of Israel’s military action in

percent disapprove. The study was conducted several weeks after October 7.

focusing on military aid for Israel and humanitarian aid for Palestinians.
Respondents likely factored in Israel’s war on Gaza but answered with general
perceptions.
42% believe the US provides the
right amount of aid to Israel
Regarding
military aid to Israel, 42 percent believe the US provides the right amount,
and 25 percent think it's insufficient, totaling 67 percent supporting at least
the current level.
Meanwhile,
31 percent think the US provides too much. Regarding humanitarian aid to
Palestinians, 74 percent think the US provides the right amount (34 percent) or
insufficient aid (40 percent). In contrast, 22 percent think too much aid is
given.
Republicans and White adults support
increased military aid
Subgroups
align with views on Israel's military actions. Republicans and White adults
support increased military aid to Israel, while Democrats, young adults, people
of color, and women believe the US should send more humanitarian aid to
Palestinians.

President
Biden's approval for handling Israel’s war on Gaza at 32 percent is lower than
his overall job approval at 37 percent. Groups opposing Israel's actions
express less approval for Biden's Middle East handling than his overall
performance.

Meanwhile,
72 percent of adults closely follow Israel’s war on Gaza with 31 percent following
it very closely. College-educated and older adults show higher interest, and
those approving of Israel's military action are more attentive.
