Gaza Civil Defense faces crisis amid ongoing aggression

GAZA — On Sunday, the Spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal delivered an update about the extent of challenges faced as the Israeli war on the strip enters its fourth month, Al-Jazeera reported.
Here are key highlights:

1. Tens of thousands of Palestinians displaced due to Israeli continuous airstrikes.
   
2. The Civil Defense teams face direct and indirect Israeli attacks.
   
3. 70 percent of the Civil defense’s capabilities were targeted by Israel.
   
4. There are more than 8,000 Palestinians from the strip currently missing.
   
5. Israeli occupation hinders the team’s ability to access multiple locations.
   
6. No fuel deliveries are compromising over 70 percent of the civil defense operational capacity.

Furthermore, the spokesperson stressed the need for providing devices that detect survivors under the rubble, requesting 18 firefighters, rescue vehicles, five excavators and 10 water tanks.
