The Palestinian Journalists Forum announced on Friday the death of journalist Alaa As'ad Hashim, who succumbed to injuries she sustained during an Israeli airstrike on Gaza City as part of the ongoing genocide.

With Hashim's death, the toll of Palestinian journalists martyred during the Israeli genocide since October 7, 2023, rises to 206.
The non-governmental forum mourned Hashim in a statement, calling her a "martyr" who passed away on Friday due to injuries from a previous Israeli airstrike.
The forum condemned the international silence and the failure to protect Palestinian journalists.
It called for "empowering journalists to carry out their professional duties in accordance with international laws and human rights conventions."
Meanwhile, the Government Media Office in Gaza also mourned Hashim and condemned the systematic targeting of Palestinian journalists.
The office urged the international community to "condemn the repeated crimes against journalists and media workers in Gaza."
It held Israel and all parties supporting it "fully responsible for these crimes against journalists."
The government media office called on international organizations and relevant authorities to take action to legally pursue the occupation for these crimes.
With U.S. support, Israel has been committing a genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in over 160,000 Palestinian deaths and injuries, most of whom are women and children, along with over 14,000 missing. (Anadolu)
