GAZA — The Media Director of the
Gaza Electricity Company, Mohammad Thabet, revealed on Wednesday that the Gaza Strip is only a few hours away from a complete halt in electricity generation due to fuel shortages. The fuel is expected to run out around 2 p.m.

According to him, the only
power plant currently relied upon is at risk of shutting down. Essential and primary sectors will be significantly affected. Thabet pointed out that the Israeli occupation has cut off the electric current coming through the territories occupied in 1948, Al Mamlaka TV reported.
He emphasized that the health sector would be the most affected by the
power outage. With various departments, hospitals, and centers unable to operate, this poses a significant threat to the service of citizens, patients, and the injured, endangering their lives.
He said “after this station stops, there will be no electricity generation available. Even if a specific generator is turned on for a hospital, the health sector won't be able to keep it running due to the lack of fuel for these generators.”
