TEL AVIV – The former Israeli foreign minister,
Tzipi Livni, said
that there is an urgent need to determine who will
control Gaza when the war
ends, Khaberni reported.

Livni added, via CNN, that there are, most likely, three realistic options:
“
Hamas, Israel, or a different Palestinian system.”
She continued that “the Palestinian system is the only possible
proposal," but she stressed that it is “really urgent” to decide whether
it will be the
Palestinian Authority (PA) or another group.
“Delaying this decision will only lead to the continuation of Hamas’s
existence, and thus the continuation of the conflict between Israel and Hamas
as well,” she added. “Israel does not care about the two million Palestinians
there, and it should not, and we do not want to
reoccupy Gaza; we just need to
care about our security… We need a system that wants to work with Israel in the
field of security and gives it legitimacy when we need to fight against or
within the Gaza Strip as well.”
