According to estimates, over 1.93 million Palestinians, or 85 percent of Gaza's population, have been forcibly displaced, with many having been moved multiple times in search of safety.

Recently, the Israeli occupation issued evacuation orders for civilians in the Al-Mawasi area and several residential blocks near Salah Al-Din Road in southern Gaza. These orders encompass an estimated 4.6 square kilometers, and officials anticipate that they will affect roughly 18,000 people and nine shelters, which will house an unknown number of forcibly displaced Palestinians.

Approximately 1.4 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) are currently sheltering in 155 UNRWA facilities across all five governorates of the Gaza Strip. Additionally, around one million are registered in 94 UNRWA shelters in southern Gaza.

Rafah has been the principal destination for displaced people, housing nearly one million people in a densely congested setting.

UNRWA estimates that the number of displaced individuals in 156 UNRWA facilities in Gaza has reached 914,000, including 5,000 pregnant women and over 2,000 people with disabilities, in addition to children, infants, and individuals with chronic illnesses.

Within UNRWA facilities, there are 670,000 displaced individuals in 97 facilities in Khan Yunis and Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, and 160,000 displaced individuals in 57 facilities in northern Gaza. The northern region faces challenges in receiving humanitarian aid and assessing the situation due to limited access.

There are between 70 and 80 displaced people on school grounds, with around 500 people sharing facilities. They frequently have to wait for hours to use the restrooms if water is available.

As winter approaches, dozens of shelters housing tens of thousands of displaced citizens across Gaza have been flooded due to rainwater mixing with sewage water, affecting classrooms, tents, and homes.
