NEW YORK – United Nations Secretary-General
Antonio Guterres condemned Israel's brutal occupation, saying the appalling
situation in the Palestinian territories had created the atmosphere for the
October 7 attack by Hamas.
"The attacks by Hamas did not come out
of nowhere,” he said at a security council meeting in New York.

violence, economic hardship, and the displacement of people."
According to Al-Mamlaka, Guterres warned
that the Israeli war on Gaza could spread to the entire region.
