According to the Palestinian news
agency WAFA, dozens of homes were flooded in Jabalia in northern Gaza, as well
as in several neighborhoods of Gaza City and the Beach refugee camp to the west
of the city, especially in low-lying areas. Commercial shops were also damaged
as heavy rainwater entered them, causing significant property damage, Khaberni
reported.
Many roads were closed after becoming
flooded and accumulating rainwater, making it challenging for residents and
vehicles to move. Strong winds blew, resulting in fallen trees and billboards,
along with the scattering of zinc sheets.
The annual flooding of homes and
neighborhoods in low-lying areas of the Gaza Strip is caused by deteriorating
infrastructure and the need for regular maintenance of rainwater drainage
systems. This situation is exacerbated by repeated attacks by the occupation on
the region
