TEGUCIGALPA – In response to what it has described as Israeli violations of
international humanitarian law in Gaza, the
government of Honduras has summoned
its ambassador to Israel for consultations, as reported by Reuters on Saturday.

Foreign
Minister Enrique Reina, in a statement posted on his Twitter account yesterday,
said, "Given the severe humanitarian crisis affecting Palestinian
civilians in Gaza,
President Xiomara Castro's government has decided to
immediately recall the Ambassador of the Republic of Honduras to Israel for
consultations."
This
decision follows similar actions taken by other countries earlier in the week.
Chile and Colombia have also recalled their ambassadors to Israel regarding the
aggression in Gaza, while Bolivia has moved to sever diplomatic relations with
Israel.
