The military spokesman for the Houthis, Yahya Saree, announced on Wednesday that they had carried out a missile and drone attack targeting warships in the Red Sea, including the U.S. aircraft carrier Truman. This announcement followed the death of three people in U.S. airstrikes on Al Hudaydah.

Saree stated in a statement: "We targeted hostile warships in the Red Sea with missiles and drones, and we have targeted the U.S. aircraft carrier Truman with cruise missiles in an ongoing engagement."
He confirmed that this marked the third engagement with the U.S. aircraft carrier in the past 24 hours. The military spokesman added that operations would continue at an escalating pace against U.S. forces by targeting their warships, and clarified that their operations against the Israeli enemy aim to stop the genocide of the Palestinian people and will not cease until the aggression against Gaza ends and the siege is lifted.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Houthi group announced that three people had been killed and three others wounded in U.S. airstrikes on the water project and a building in the Al-Mansuriyah district of Al Hudaydah governorate, western Yemen. These strikes were part of a series of U.S. airstrikes that also targeted Saada (in the north) and Hajjah (northwest), according to the Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV channel.
On March 15, U.S. President Donald Trump ordered a "major strike" against the Houthis in Yemen and threatened to "completely eliminate" them.
As of Tuesday evening, the Anadolu Agency reported that hundreds of U.S. airstrikes on Yemen had resulted in the deaths of 65 civilians and injuries to 152 others, including women and children.
