Each group of settlers consists of 10 to 30 people, with
Israeli occupation forces present to protect them.
Israeli occupation forces also continued to impose strict measures and restrictions on Palestinians' entry to the mosque.
According to Al-Mamlaka’s correspondent, journalists covering the situation in Jerusalem were restricted by settlers.
Prior,
Israeli National Security Minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, had earlier requested an extension of settler visitation days to the mosque.
Monday marks the fifth day of the Jewish Passover holiday, which coincides with the holy month of Ramadan.
Since last week,
Al-Aqsa Mosque has been subjected to increased Israeli attacks and brutal assaults targeting worshipers and devotees inside the Qibli Mosque. Israeli forces have used rubber bullets, sound bombs, and gas, resulting in injuries, hundreds of arrests, and causing severe damage to the interior of the mosque.
Under Israeli protectionThe
Jerusalem Waqf Department reported that 482 settlers in groups had stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Monday morning.
They carried out provocative tours in its courtyards and performed Talmudic rituals in its eastern area before leaving under strict protection by the occupation police.
Israeli forces also deployed units and special forces in the courtyards and gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque to secure the settlers' invasion and continued to restrict the entry of worshippers in the early morning, preventing many from entering.
Despite the occupation's restrictions and
prevention of youth from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque, hundreds of Muslim worshipers attended the courtyards of Al-Aqsa.
Governor of Jerusalem condemns IsraelAdnan Ghaith, the Governor of Jerusalem, said on Monday that Israel is distorting facts and claiming not to change the existing situation in Al-Aqsa Mosque, but in reality, it is violating all agreements and facilitating invasions to Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He added that the attack on worshippers is an Israeli crime, and there is no accountability for the Israeli occupation for its attacks.
He stressed that daily invasions of the mosque mean that Israel imposes a temporal division and now it seeks to impose a spatial division, which is rejected.
He pointed out that Israel obstructs the work of the
Jerusalem Waqf Department in the mosque, indicating that what is happening in Al-Aqsa is a brutal and barbaric aggression.
Jordan warns of consequencesOn Sunday, Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates warned of the catastrophic consequences of Israel's continued violation of the historical and legal status quo in Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif.
The ministry expressed concern over Israel's violations of the sanctity of the holy sites and the right of Muslims to perform their religious rituals during this holy month.
The ministry's spokesperson, ambassador Sinan Majali, stated that the Israeli police force's violation of the sanctity of the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque and assault on worshippers in an attempt to empty it of worshippers would push the situation towards more tension and violence.
He warned that everyone would pay the price for such escalation.
