The International Government Communication Forum (IGCF 2024) culminated in a remarkable finale, drawing 13,200 attendees from 138 countries to an extensive programme of workshops, discussions, and inspiring speeches delivered by over 250 global experts.
Organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) under the theme ‘Agile Governments… Innovative Communications,’ the two-day international forum at Expo Centre Sharjah, marked the conclusion of the 13th edition with the launch of four publications embodying its mission to present advanced scientific insights to contribute to the development of the government communication sector and its future in the region and globally.
The publications include ‘Government Storytelling,’ ‘Research Trends in the Field of Government and International Communication,’ ‘AI Technologies and Arabic Content Quality: Creating Professional Automated Content,’ and ‘The Role of Government Communication in Spreading a Culture of Tolerance and Rejecting Hatred.’
The forum also revealed a pioneering research study by Trends Research & Advisory titled ‘Asian Resilience: Learning from Singapore’s Experience to Enhance Government Resilience in the Age of Crises.’ The in-depth study offers a comprehensive analysis of the Asian model for enhancing economic adaptability and bolstering government resilience in the face of sudden economic disruptions. It specifically highlights the valuable lessons drawn from Singapore's approach to managing crises and maintaining stability.

HE Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of the SGMB, stressed that IGCF has established itself as a global platform dedicated to shaping government communication strategies. He pointed out that the 13th edition marked a new milestone in embedding communication within government practices to strengthen economic competitiveness.
The Director General added: “The lively discussions during the 13th edition have reaffirmed communication as a key tool and a driving force for growth, development, sustainability, and innovation. It forms the foundation of partnerships between societies and governments to shape a sustainable future with the agility to overcome challenges and pave the way for new opportunities in a rapidly changing world.”
During the international event, which took place between September 4 and 5, distinguished decision-makers, industry leaders, and communication experts from across the globe deliberated on vital topics and proposed recommendations to advance government communication to address and overcome pressing global challenges.
Backed by over 40 local, regional, and international partners, IGCF 2024 featured over 160 workshops, panel discussions and inspiring speeches across 18 platforms, delivering forward-thinking solutions to today’s communication challenges.
