GAZA – On Tuesday, Salama Marouf, the head of
the Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip, condemned the
Israeli Occupation Forces' (IOF) relentless targeting of individuals striving to provide for
their families, exacerbating their plight of hunger. Marouf underscored the
deliberate strategy employed by the Israeli occupation to
starve Palestinians,
particularly in the northern Gaza Strip, where severe famine prevails due to
acute shortages in essential goods and aid.

In a press statement issued, Marouf recounted
the latest incident where the IOF targeted civilians awaiting aid at the Kuwait
Roundabout. The attack resulted in casualties, with fatalities reported among
those seeking assistance, while dozens sustained injuries, Al-Mamlaka TV
reported.
"This new crime raises the number of
people killed by the occupation while waiting for aid at
Kuwait Junction and
Rashid Street to over 400, with 1300 injured," Marouf stated.
He emphasized that such deliberate targeting
of aid seekers by the IOF exposes the hypocrisy of any claims to alleviate
suffering in the northern Gaza Strip. Marouf asserted that the policy of
starvation is a central component of the occupation's agenda, alongside the
genocide and ethnic cleansing crimes it perpetrates.
Highlighting the complicity of the
international community, Marouf stated that Israel's actions are encouraged by
global compliance and the lack of genuine efforts to end the suffering of the
Palestinian people. He emphasized that a meaningful resolution would
necessitate a ceasefire and the uninterrupted flow of sufficient aid to Gaza.
