GAZA
— On Monday, the
Israeli occupation forces (IOF) ordered people out of swaths in the main southern city in
the Gaza Strip as it pressed its ground campaign deep into the south, sending
desperate residents fleeing even as it dropped bombs on areas where it told
them to go.

Israel’s
military posted a map on Monday morning with around a quarter of the city of
Khan Younis marked off in yellow as the territory that must be evacuated at
once. Three arrows pointed south and west, telling people to head towards the
Mediterranean coast and
Rafah, near the Egyptian border.
Video
footage from Reuters highlighted Gazan residents, with some sharing that they
have fled about two to three times. In one instance, Hamdi Zaheer from northern
Gaza says he sheltered for a month in Al-Shifa Hospital, then was ordered to
southern areas they were not being told to evacuate, he said, “Send us to the
grave and be done.”
